The Performance Design and Sustainability Analyst will support ADAS IDEAS in developing performance-led, climate-responsive and buildable design solutions for lightweight architecture, tensile membrane structures, ETFE systems, fabric facades, skylights, canopies, covered walkways and semi-outdoor public environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, AutoCAD, BIM and visualization tools to support canopy geometry, facade studies, roof-form development and environmental design options.
- Develop parametric studies for shading devices, facade porosity, roof profiles, canopy modules, pattern logic, repeated components and design alternatives.
- Assist the ADAS team irrationalizing complex architectural forms into buildable modular or repeatable systems.
- Prepare diagrams, 3D models, renders, exploded axonometric and technical visuals for internal design review, client presentation and tender support.
- Coordinate with structural and membrane specialists to ensure that conceptual forms remain compatible with form-finding, membrane behavior, steel support logic and installation requirements.
- Assist in the review of tender drawings, including design intent, access, logistics, utilities, drainage interfaces and construction-phase considerations for design proposal purposes.
- Prepare CFD-based studies for natural ventilation, wind comfort, airflow paths, heat build-up, stack effect and solar-induced ventilation strategies.
- Compare design options and clearly explain the impact of geometry, orientation, opening ratio, facade porosity, material transparency and roof profile on environmental performance.
- Prepare simple technical narratives to explain why a particular material, porosity, transparency, roof form or facade system is suitable for the project.
- Support performance studies for ETFE film, PTFE/PVC membrane, PTFE mesh, double-skin facade and other lightweight envelope systems.
Requirements
Degree in Architecture, or related design field.
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant architectural design experience.
Proficient in Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino), and Adobe software.
Experience in complex geometry, freeform surfaces, or parametric modelling is an advantage.
