Key accountability (Main purpose of this job):
The Performance Coach position acts as a lead coach based on direction from the Head of Aquatics. Responsibilities will include:
(a) Working within the Aquatics program to implement all instructional aspects.
(b) Ensuring the quality and related safety of the programs (before, during, and after school).
(c) Takes responsibility for performance squad level within the swim team, responsible for collaboratively planning season, workouts, attendance and squad level movement for this level
(d) Acting as a Performance Coach to further develop student athletes in swimming and land based work, including strength and conditioning.
(e) Work with the Head of Aquatics and the Swim Coach in all other areas as required.
Responsibilities (Key areas of Responsibilities):
Swim Team Coach - Write season plans, workouts within a shared database for designated squad. Conduct swim team practices in a safe and friendly environment and assume a coaching role as defined by the Head of Aquatics and Athletic Director.
Administer and assist in conducting swimming meets with the Aquatics department: To include all aspects, set-up, communication, meet manager and necessary planning.
Be available for in-service training for faculty, swimming instructors/aides, and lifeguards as necessary.
Working in Holiday Swim Camps and Summer Camps.
Other ongoing duties as assigned.
Duties for School Holiday and Summer Breaks
Organize, plan and teach Learn-to-swim programs if required
Coaching of swim team
Admin roles
Inventory and safekeeping of equipment and general upkeep (tidiness) of pool area
Supervision of the pool and other users and coaches
Oversee strength and conditioning work for the development and performance squad.
Supervise pool usage and ensure safety during all programmes
