Job description
Primary Purpose

The Consultant is responsible to develop enhance and support Pega applications based on functional, nonfunctional, and security design requirements and ensure software and subroutines are working to specification, program codes have conformed to standards and are delivered with quality meeting schedule and requirements.
What will you do

- Design and develop Pega applications using Pega platform provided low code capabilities adhering best practices

- Build case types, data models, responsive user interfaces, and integrations with other systems

- Implement business logic using activities, data transforms, and decision rules

- Configure workflows, service level agreements (SLAs), and routing logic

- Implement security using Pega provided security rules

- Implement reporting using report viewer and report definitions

- Optimizing application performance using Pega provided tools and other DB tools

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in Pega application and database

- Develop and maintain reusable components and frameworks

- Research, learn and evaluate new features in Pega plat form to enhance the solution

- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions to maintain quality and to promote best practices
Technical Design

- Translate business requirements into technical specifications

- Create and maintain low level technical design documents

- Ensure adherence to Pega best practices and guardrails

- Optimize application performance and scalability

Integration & Testing

- Integrate Pega applications with external systems using REST, SOAP, EMAIL, File and other protocols

- Develop Pega Unit test cases and perform unit testing. Support other phases of testing including system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)

- Debug and resolve technical issues and defects

- Support deployment activities across environments

Collaboration & Documentation

- Work closely with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders

- Participate in requirement gathering and design sessions

- Document technical specifications, configurations, and processes

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers
Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

Mandatory:

- Pega Certified System Architect (CSA)

- Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA)

Good to have:

- Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) or any other certifications

- Azure / AWS Cloud foundational / Associate pr higher levels of certification

- Specialization in React or Angular front-end technologies

- Strong understanding of Pega Cloud services

- Hands-on experience in Kubernetes services

- Familiar with OOPS concepts and other programming /scripting languages like Java, JavaScript, shell / bash scrips.

- Diploma / Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology related field, or IT equivalent

- At least 5 years of working experience in developing and delivering Pega application software

- Strong understanding of Pega OOTB capabilities with hands-on experience and able to clearly articulate technical skills

- Demonstrated experience in designing and developing Pega applications using App Studio and Dev Studio and Pega Blueprint

- Hands-on experience in in working with UIKit, Theme-Cosmos and Constellation applications

- Proven experience in integrating Pega application with other systems using various protocols

- Familiar with database and SQL concepts

- Familiar with AI technologies including Pega Gen AI capabilities and others

- Familiar with software delivery methodologies like Agile and Waterfall

- Strong debugging capabilities not limited to using Pega provided tools and demonstrated experience in providing alternate work arounds and alternate solutions

- Possess relevant system development / maintenance experience using Pega-related technologies

- Possess initiative and disposition with a strong commitment and orientation towards results and high-quality standards

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think out of the box

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong communication and interpersonal skills
