Job Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, statutory submissions, payroll reconciliations, employee pay-related queries, and payroll compliance activities.
- Process monthly payroll cycles, supplementary payroll runs, bonuses, increments, and one-off payments.
- Validate payroll inputs and ensure data integrity before payroll processing.
- Review payroll exceptions, discrepancies, and withheld payment cases.
- Maintain employee payroll records within payroll systems.
- Process CPF contributions, refunds, and shortfall cases.
- Prepare and submit annual and ad-hoc tax filings (IR8A, IR8S, IR21, tax amendments).
- Ensure compliance with Employment Act, CPF regulations, and IRAS requirements.
- Reconcile payroll reports against General Ledger records.
- Prepare payroll variance, reconciliation, and management reports.
- Support external and internal audit exercises.
- Respond to employee payroll enquiries.
- Resolve salary discrepancies, CPF issues, and payment-related concerns.
- Manage overpayment recovery cases and communicate directly with affected employees.
- Participate in payroll system testing (UAT) and process improvements.
- Support payroll system upgrades and implementation of new payroll requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or Business.
- 2-5 years of payroll administration experience.
- Experience with payroll systems such as SAP, Workday, Excelity, Oracle, or SuccessFactors.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore payroll legislation, CPF, and tax regulations.
