To provide various anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a Pathologist.
Job responsibilities
- Gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens
- Prepare tissue for numerous pathological tests including frozen section, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical staining.
- Photo gross specimens
- Provide fresh tissue to tissue repository and research projects
- Assist pathology residents in grossing specimens
- Assist in specimen accessioning, cassette printing, specimen handling and fixation prior to grossing
- Assist in specimen storage/ disposal
- Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Participate in Quality Assurance / Process Improvement activities.
- Any other duties as required by the laboratory
Requirements:
- Min Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery or related field
- Experience in grossing pathology specimens
