Patent Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IP strategy aligned with business, product, and market goals.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to identify and capture new inventions and innovations.
• Review invention disclosures and translate technical concepts into patentable ideas.
• Build, manage, and optimize the organization's IP portfolio (patents, trade secrets, know-how).
• Lead invention disclosure processes and support internal invention assessments.
• Maintain accurate and organized IP records, databases, and filing documentation.
• Review and advise on IP-related terms in contracts (e.g., ownership, confidentiality, publication rights).
• Establish and improve IP processes, policies, and internal workflows, including training and guidance.
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in intellectual property, patent management, ideally within semiconductor, electronics industry
• Experience in patent drafting, filing, licensing, technology transfer, IP due diligence
• Experience working with external patent counsel and managing filings
• Able to understand and translate complex engineering concepts into patentable inventions
• Knowledge of IP strategy, portfolio development, and competitive landscape analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, legal, business units).
• Strong project management, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information.
