Job Summary

You will support restaurant and catering operations by preparing and decorating quality pastry and dessert products. You will work closely with your pastry team and kitchen staff to ensure timely production and maintain high standards for taste and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Create customized pastry and dessert designs for weddings, birthdays, and events using buttercream piping, fondant, and glaze techniques to meet client specifications
  • Mix, bake, and prepare cakes, pastries, and cupcakes following recipes and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent product quality
  • Inspect finished products to confirm they meet visual and taste quality standards before delivery
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation to comply with hygiene standards and manage decorating supplies and inventory levels efficiently
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and meet event deadlines

Required competencies and certifications

  • Demonstrate proficiency in piping, fondant application, glazing, and current decorating trends to produce visually appealing desserts
  • Maintain physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 20kg safely
  • Possess a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in cake decorating or professional pastry production

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Hold culinary certification or relevant training in pastry or baking arts
  • Exhibit strong artistic ability and attention to detail to enhance product creativity and presentation
