Job Description

UWCSEA Dover Campus is seeking a passionate and committed part-time Teacher of High School Physical Education to join in August 2026.

The successful candidate must hold a relevant tertiary qualification and a recognised teaching qualification, with proven experience teaching secondary Physical Education. They will teach core Physical Education classes to Grade 9 and 10 students and may also contribute to Middle School classes. The successful candidate will be an excellent and inspiring practitioner, with a passion for delivering an engaging, concept-based PE curriculum.

Please note that to apply for this role, you must have an internationally recognised qualification and reside in Singapore. You must also be readily available from August 2026.

Main Responsibilities

  • Teachers construct learning experiences that challenge students, support the diversity of learners in each class. This includes demonstrating a strong commitment to concept based teaching and learning, along with a commitment to putting intercultural understanding into practice within the classroom.
  • Teachers ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant and appropriate feedback to students.
  • Teachers keep parents informed about their children's learning, and are proactive in communication with parents.
  • Teachers demonstrate effective class management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning.
  • Teachers support personal and social emotional learning through academic classes.
  • Teachers contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Physical Education Department and all elements of the learning programme.
  • Capable and willing to coach teams throughout the year as part of the Activity programme.

Person Specifications

  • A good degree and a recognised teaching qualification or certification are expected.
  • Successful prior experience of teaching Physical Education in the 14-18 age range is required.
  • Specific experience of teaching academic PE courses (GCSE, IB SEHS) is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, experience and pedagogical knowledge in areas outlined by the UWCSEA Learning Principles and the UWCSEA Profile.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, self-manage and to think and act in critical, creative and innovative ways to support teaching and learning.
  • Academic expectations include enthusiastic participation in Professional Learning
  • Pastoral expectations include the leadership of a mentor group unless the teacher is exempted due to other responsibilities
  • On average the College expects a yearly contribution of two sessions per week in each season to Activities and/or Service.
  • Teachers should be willing and eager to participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics Activities Outdoor Education Personal and Social Education and Service
  • The College expects that teachers will participate enthusiastically in the curricular Outdoor Education experiences which are relevant to their students and will also occasionally volunteer for holiday Outdoor Education trips.
