Join the laboratory of Sustainable Resources at the School of Biological Sciences. We are seeking a Part-Time Research Assistant (14 hours per week) to contribute to a project focused on Metagenomic study of Microbial Communities in Wood Decay.
Job Description
Laboratory safety, purchase and bookkeeping
Field Survey of Wood Structure Decay
DNA Isolation and Quality Control
Metagenomic Sequencing
Bioinformatics Analysis
Cultivation and Isolation of pure strains
In Vitro Wood Decay Analysis
Microbiome Database Creation
Requirements
A good bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
Competence in general molecular biology laboratory techniques, with relevant experience in fungal research and aseptic culturing.
Experience in bioinformatics, particularly in genomic or metagenomic data analysis, will be advantageous.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
