Part-Time Fire Safety Manager / Workplace Safety & Health Officer (FSM/WSHO)
We are looking for a competent and reliable Part-Time Fire Safety Manager / Workplace Safety & Health Officer (FSM/WSHO) to be deployed to our client's premises. The successful candidate will oversee fire safety and workplace safety & health matters, support statutory compliance, conduct inspections, advise management, and strengthen overall emergency preparedness at site.
Work Arrangement
- 2 visits per month for Workplace Safety & Health
- 2 visits per month for Fire Safety
- Additional attendance may be required for committee meetings, fire drills, table-top exercises, fire certificate renewal, incident investigations and other ad hoc events
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular fire safety and workplace safety & health inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions and non-compliances.
- Ensure fire protection and life safety systems are properly maintained, including detectors, extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, alarm systems and PA systems.
- Prepare inspection reports with findings, photographs, recommendations and follow-up actions.
- Develop, review, update and implement the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), including fire emergency procedures and arson prevention measures.
- Liaise and coordinate with SCDF, MOM and other relevant authorities on fire safety and WSH matters.
- Serve as secretary for Fire Safety Committee and WSH Committee meetings, including preparation of meeting minutes and required reports.
- Plan and support fire safety campaigns, WSH awareness programmes, internal briefings and safety training activities.
- Organise and coordinate fire evacuation drills, table-top exercises and post-exercise reviews.
- Support CERT readiness, emergency response coordination and pre-audit preparation for fire safety related audits or operational surveys.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, recommend remedial measures and support follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct and review Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and assist in implementing the WSH Management System and WSH programmes.
- Assist in SGSecure-related planning, briefings and training.
- Support the operation of the Fire Command Centre during fire or other related emergencies when required.
Requirements
- Registered / qualified Fire Safety Manager and Workplace Safety & Health Officer with relevant Singapore certifications.
- Good knowledge of the Fire Safety Act, SCDF requirements, Workplace Safety and Health Act, Risk Management and incident reporting requirements.
- Experience in site inspections, ERP management, CERT coordination, committee meetings, drills, incident investigation and statutory compliance.
- Able to work independently and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, authorities and internal stakeholders.
- Good report writing, documentation and follow-up skills.
- Prior experience in commercial, industrial, institutional, dormitory or multi-occupancy premises will be an advantage.
