Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and patient tutor to guide a lower primary child in coding and Arduino. The ideal candidate should enjoy working with young learners and can explain technical concepts in a simple, engaging way.

Responsibilities

  • Teach foundational coding concepts and Arduino in an age-appropriate, hands-on manner
  • Plan and prepare engaging lesson activities suited to the child's current level
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and guide the child through Arduino projects (including installation and debugging)
  • Provide progress updates to the parent regularly

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree programme (Computer Engineering or Computer Science preferred)
  • Strong academic results (minimally second upper/ cum laude)
  • Proficient in both English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) to communicate with child
  • Able to commit to 2-3x sessions a week
  • Hands-on experience with Arduino — including setup, installation, and debugging
  • Patient, responsible, and comfortable teaching young children
  • Reliable and committed to the agreed schedule (timing open to discussion)

Nice to Have

  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience
  • Familiarity with beginner-friendly coding tools (e.g. scratch, micro:bit, mBlock)
