About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and patient tutor to guide a lower primary child in coding and Arduino. The ideal candidate should enjoy working with young learners and can explain technical concepts in a simple, engaging way.
Responsibilities
- Teach foundational coding concepts and Arduino in an age-appropriate, hands-on manner
- Plan and prepare engaging lesson activities suited to the child's current level
- Set up, troubleshoot, and guide the child through Arduino projects (including installation and debugging)
- Provide progress updates to the parent regularly
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree programme (Computer Engineering or Computer Science preferred)
- Strong academic results (minimally second upper/ cum laude)
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) to communicate with child
- Able to commit to 2-3x sessions a week
- Hands-on experience with Arduino — including setup, installation, and debugging
- Patient, responsible, and comfortable teaching young children
- Reliable and committed to the agreed schedule (timing open to discussion)
Nice to Have
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience
- Familiarity with beginner-friendly coding tools (e.g. scratch, micro:bit, mBlock)
