Roles and responsibilities of early interventionist:
- Develop lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Deliver lessons for classes.
- Assess students and set appropriate SMART goals (to be discussed with other stakeholders i.e. parents, therapists)
- Review children's learning progress weekly
- Updating parents on students activities and progress
- Identify and implement individualised teaching and learning approaches
- Use a range of appropriate materials and resources to create quality learning environments.
- Use classroom management strategies according to the needs of the children.
- Prepare case files, reports and closure of cases.
- Establishing good communication and collaborating with parents, caregivers and other professionals
Qualifications
- Advance Diploma, Diploma and/or Degree in Early Childhood Special Education/
- Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN) awarded by NIEC/
- At least 1 year experience working in an early intervention setting and a transdisciplinary setting
