Job Summary
The Clinic Assistant (part-time) supports clinical operations and ensures an excellent patient experience by managing reception duties, assisting doctors, handling administrative tasks, and maintaining clinic cleanliness and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage reception duties to ensure smooth patient flow and service
- Register patients accurately to maintain up-to-date records
- Prepare and dispense medications following clinic protocols
- Collect payments efficiently and accurately from patients
- Handle phone calls and enquiries professionally to provide clear information
- Submit claims for managed health contracts, insurances, CHAS/PG, and Medisave to ensure timely reimbursement
- Coordinate and manage vendor relationships for clinic supplies and services
- Assist doctors during simple clinical procedures, including acting as a chaperone for patient comfort and safety
- Perform basic medical examinations or tests on patients as directed
- Set up and maintain clinic equipment to ensure operational readiness
- Procure medical supplies and general equipment to maintain adequate stock levels
- Maintain general cleanliness of the clinic to provide a safe and welcoming environment
- Organize and file clinic paperwork to support efficient administrative operations
- Handle patients and walk-in appointments with professionalism and care to enhance patient satisfaction
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Good spoken and written English to communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Proficiency in Mandarin or other Language/Dialects is advantageous for patient communication in a diverse community
- At least GCE N levels or ITE Diploma in a relevant field of study
- Experience working in a busy or start-up environment, ideally in a clinic or medical setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to handle sensitive data professionally and maintain patient confidentiality
- Enthusiastic, positive, and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn clinical systems
