Paralegal (Japanese speaking)

Job Description:

• Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or case notes for lawyers reference.
• Draft, review, and proofread legal documents and contracts in both English and Japanese, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents and submissions to relevant authorities.
• Maintain and organize case files, contracts, and document management systems.
• Liaise with clients (including Japanese-speaking clients), external counsel, and government bodies when necessary.
• Track case timelines, hearing dates, and deliverables to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Support lawyers in various practice areas such as corporate, commercial, or regulatory matters.
• Assist with KYC processes and client onboarding documentation.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Excellent command of both English and Japanese (written and verbal) for contract review and communication in both English and Japanese with Japanese speaking clients.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management tools
