Job Description

ROLE

You will be engaged as a paralegal to assist the lawyers in the litiigation and/or corporate departments in providing legal services to clients of Infinitus Law Corporation.

REPORTING

You will report directly to a lawyer in the relevant Department and will be expected to work for all lawyers and with other paralegals and secretaries within the Department as required.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Your day-to-day responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage compliance and administrative matters, like client due diligence, conflicts checks, fee proposals and mandates, billings
  • Attend meetings and take down minutes and action points
  • Proactively monitor and follow up on outstanding matters
  • Undertake legal research
  • Conduct searches
  • Generate first drafts of documents from precedents, in particular pleadings, adffidavits, corporate authorisation documents, legal opinions, director's certificates, simple contracts
  • Format and proofread documents.
  • Assist in conducting due diligence and drafting due diligence reports
  • Liaise with clients in relation to any general enquiries if instructed by the supervising lawyer.
  • Assist in preparing translations, presentations, marketing materials.
  • Provide administrative support like diary management, travel and accommodation arrangement.

CANDIDATE

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Diploma in paralegal studies or prior working experience in a corporate department of a law firm would be an advantage.
  • Excellent writing skills with fluency in both spoken and written English.
  • Work independently and as a team member.
  • Manage a complex and demanding workload and prioritise tasks and projects to meet work standards and timelines.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively legal matters both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside normal working hours/days when work flow requires.
