Job Description

The Organisational Design Specialist would work on building the right design and structure for the organisation.

The key responsibilities include evaluating, designing, and implementing the organisational structure to ensure optimal workforce deployment and resource allocation strategies to enable the organisation to meet its business objectives.

This role involves analysing current organisational structures, identifying areas for improvement, and developing new models that optimise resources and improve overall organisational collaboration and effectiveness aligned with the organisation's strategic goals.

This calls for close collaboration with various teams to analyse current and future staffing needs, identify trends, and ensure efficient use of manpower resources against the organisation's priorities.

Roles & Responsibilities

Organisational Analysis

  • Assess the current organisational structure, including roles, reporting hierarchies, span of control, workflows, and communication patterns.
  • Collect and interpret data related to workforce decision flows, productivity and operational effectiveness.
  • Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in the structure and hierarchy.

Structure Strategy and Workforce Design

  • Develop new organisational models that align with business strategies and goals.
  • Design effective reporting hierarchies and workflows to ensure clarity, efficiency, and seamless coordination across teams.
  • Identify optimal workforce numbers to support the models
  • Create detailed organisational charts, role definitions, descriptions and job titles.

Structure Implementation

  • Work closely with the respective heads to implement organisational changes and restructuring.
  • Advise on change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions when structural changes are made.
  • Stakeholder management with HRBPs to facilitate rollout and review.

Benchmarking and Best Practices

  • Familiar with general and industry trends and best practices, and benchmarks in media organisational design and structure.
  • Incorporate findings to guide recommendations and decisions.

Documentation

  • Document the rationale for proposed structural changes, the expected benefits, and the impact on the organisation.
  • Create communications for proposed changes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of all organisational design models, changes, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Actual experience and leadership in organisational structure analysis, design and implementation.
  • Proven track record in organisational design and implementation in the context of alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Experience with change management practices and leading organisational structure transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Ability to influence and guide senior management in decision-making related to structural changes.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in HR
  • Some HR consultancy experience would be useful
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related field.

This position would initially be on a 2 year contract.
