Database Administration & Support
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 database administration support for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL environments.
- Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal operations.
- Perform routine database administration activities including backup, recovery, cloning, refreshes, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, service requests, and production issues within defined SLA timelines.
- Support database upgrades, migrations, and environment provisioning activities.
BAU Operations & Maintenance
- Conduct daily BAU database health checks and proactively identify potential issues.
- Execute database patching, maintenance, and security remediation activities in accordance with organizational standards.
- Ensure database environments remain stable, secure, and compliant with operational requirements.
- Maintain operational documentation, standard operating procedures, and support runbooks.
Service Management & Infrastructure Oversight
- Manage Oracle infrastructure services and coordinate operational support activities across internal teams and external vendors.
- Oversee service delivery, incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
- Track service performance metrics, SLA compliance, and operational risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance database reliability and service quality.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and cloud teams to support business-critical services.
Audit, Compliance & Vendor Management
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation, evidence, and remediation plans.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with database vendors and support partners for issue resolution, maintenance activities, and service reviews.
- Manage vendor relationships, escalations, and support contracts to ensure effective service delivery.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) administration and support.
- Working knowledge of MySQL database administration.
- Experience performing database health monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and patch management.
- Good understanding of database security, high availability, disaster recovery, and operational best practices.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Proven experience managing database vendors and external service providers.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management.
- Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Oracle Database Administration certifications preferred.
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications are advantageous.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale database and infrastructure environments.
- Exposure to cloud-hosted database platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments is a plus.
