Job Description

About the job:

Implement and maintain on-premises and Cloud databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, PostgreSQL
Proactively manage and maintain database security standards and governance.
Performing database operations tasks such as monitoring database performance over time or troubleshooting issues with production applications.
Hands-on experience on configuration and maintenance of Oracle GoldenGate for successful data replication
Create and execute reliable database backup and restore strategies.
Collaborate with DevOps engineers and developers.
Able to identify and resolve bottle necks and deadlock issues.
Able to do database performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
Maintains and ensure that databases adhere to SLA and operational KPIs are met.
Documents database Standard Operating Procedures

About You:

Experience with working on hybrid environments such as AWS/On-prem
Experience with databases such as AWS RDS, Oracle, MSSQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL
Experience with database replication tools such as Oracle Golden Gate
Experience with installation and configuration of Oracle/MariaDB/PostgreSQL databases
Experience with creating and executing database backup and restore strategies
Experience with database security standards and governance
Experience with database performance tuning to resolve bottlenecks and deadlock issue.
Experience with database operations and know-hows to meet SLAs and KPIs
Knowledge of DevOps methodologies

Desired Background:

Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
Minimum 3 year in database administrator or engineer role
Knowledge with infrastructure provision tools (Docker, Ansible etc.).
Good understanding of Containerised technologies and Linux operating system.
Self-motivated and excellent communication skills.
Experience in public sector projects would be an advantage.
