Job Description

We are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) to provide database system administration and operational support across enterprise environments. This role works closely with application teams, project managers, customers, and vendors to support database implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing operations.

The DBA will play a key role in delivering infrastructure projects and ensuring high availability, security, and performance of database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administration and support for MS SQL Server and MariaDB databases across projects and client environments.
  • Create, document, and implement database standards, monitoring frameworks, and performance and capacity optimisation models.
  • Coordinate with customers and application project managers to implement database infrastructure in line with application requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, track, and execute database upgrades, version changes, and server patching in collaboration with project and application support teams.
  • Design, implement, and manage database backup and recovery procedures, including monitoring and validation of backups.
  • Support application teams in troubleshooting application and database-related issues, and coordinate with vendors to resolve complex problems.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, and support across SIT, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Manage day-to-day database operations to ensure system stability, availability, and performance.

Knowledge and Skills

  • 3-5 years of database administration experience with MS SQL Server in Windows and Azure environments.
  • 1-2 years of experience in installation, configuration, and setup of MariaDB and MS SQL high availability solutions, including HADR Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and Peer-to-Peer Replication.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, Oracle GoldenGate (OGG), MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and cloud database models (DBaaS) is an advantage.
  • Experience in database security hardening, monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning for Oracle and MS SQL Server.
  • Strong ability to coordinate with customers, application teams, project managers, and vendors on database infrastructure setup and implementation.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high levels of database system availability.
  • Strong customer focus with a commitment to continuous improvement in database performance and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating strong teamwork, accountability, and professional integrity.
