Responsibilities
- Database Operations & Support
- Act as Oracle DBA for CIM and related manufacturing systems.
- Ensure effective BAU support activities in line with internal customer needs and SLAs.
- Perform database monitoring, session management, lock analysis, long‑running query handling and hung session resolution.
- Manage L1 and L2 DBA tasks, including incident handling, root cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Perform backup and recovery using RMAN, including database cloning (e.g. duplicate database).
- Use Oracle utilities and features such as expdp/impdp, partitioning, advanced compression, LOB management and concurrent statistics.
- Conduct performance tuning using SQL Plan Management (SPM), hints and SQL Tuning Advisor.
- Analyse AWR/ASH/ADDM reports and implement tuning recommendations.
- Troubleshoot database issues such as TNS/network connectivity, tablespace/FRA utilisation, user privilege problems and alert log errors.
- Manage shift duties together with other team members to support production operations.
- Optimisation, Automation & AI‑Assisted Operations
- Identify opportunities to automate routine DBA tasks (monitoring, reporting, housekeeping, capacity checks) using scripting and available tools.
- Leverage the company's on‑premise ChatGPT Engine and GitHub Copilot to improve productivity in scripting, documentation and problem analysis.
- Collaborate with internal big data teams using Hadoop and Greenplum platforms to ensure
efficient data flow between Oracle databases and big data systems.
- Support initiatives to integrate database telemetry with big data / analytics platforms for advanced monitoring, anomaly detection and performance insights
Requirement
- Solid hands‑on experience as an Oracle DBA in production environments, including BAU support.
- Proven experience managing L1 and L2 DBA tasks (incident handling, monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery).
- Strong knowledge of RMAN, AWR/ASH/ADDM, SQL tuning and Oracle performance optimisation techniques.
- Practical experience with expdp/impdp, partitioning, advanced compression, LOBs and related Oracle features.
- Good understanding of database security, user/role management and auditing concepts.
- Experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues, storage/tablespace problems and database availability incidents.
- Familiarity with scripting (e.g. Shell, Python or similar) for automation of DBA tasks.
- Ability to work in a shift‑based support model and respond to production issues in a timely manner.
