Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive objective and subjective refractions for patients of all age groups. Perform visual acuity, binocular vision, and various optometric assessments. Undertake pre- and post-operative evaluations for cataract and refractive surgery patients. Assess, fit, and provide follow-up care for contact lenses, including specialty lenses. Provide low vision assessments and rehabilitation for patients with visual impairments. Collaborate with Ophthalmologists to manage stable eye conditions. Assist in paediatric eye assessments and myopia management programmes. Conduct diabetic retinopathy screenings and retinal imaging as necessary. Perform ophthalmic investigations and diagnostic tests for treatment planning. Educate patients on eye health, vision care, and management of eye conditions. Document clinical findings and maintain accurate patient records.

Requirements

• Degree in Optometry or equivalent recognised qualification. Full registration with the Singapore Optometrists and Opticians Board (OOB). Relevant clinical experience in a hospital or clinical optometry setting is preferred. Background in ophthalmology, cataract/refractive surgery, or myopia management is advantageous. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Patient-focused with a commitment to high-quality clinical practice. Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Meticulous, organised, and capable of managing multiple clinical responsibilities.
