Job Summary
Operate and monitor tidal gates between the reservoir and sea, ensuring accurate data recording, site surveillance, and contractor supervision to support PUB's water management operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate tidal gates between the reservoir and sea to regulate water flow as directed by PUB
- Check and record reservoir and sea level meter readings every hour to maintain accurate operational data
- Monitor CCTV footage at reservoir premises to detect and report unusual activities or unauthorized access
- Review weather forecasts regularly to prepare for tidal gate operations during changing conditions
- Supervise contractors on-site by overseeing their tasks and ensuring compliance with operational standards
- Use computer applications, including Microsoft Office, to document and report operational activities accurately
- Work shifts as scheduled to provide continuous monitoring and operation of tidal gates
- Use reliable personal transportation to commute to the worksite consistently and punctually
Required competencies and certifications
- NITEC certificate (minimum qualification)
- Competency in computer use, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work shift schedules
- Access to reliable personal transportation
