Job Overview
The Operations Technology (OT) Engineer drives industrial connectivity, data integration, and digitalization across shopfloor operations. This role bridges OT and IT systems, enabling secure data flow, real-time monitoring, and advanced analytics to improve operational performance and support Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Integrate industrial machines and equipment into the OT/IT ecosystem using standard protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT)
- Design, implement, and maintain secure OT networks, including VLAN architecture and system segmentation
- Develop and deploy real-time dashboards (e.g., OEE, machine performance) using SCADA, MES, or custom platforms
- Analyze machine and production data to identify bottlenecks, improve reliability, and support data-driven decision-making
- Lead digitalization initiatives, including machine monitoring, automation, and smart factory solutions
- Troubleshoot connectivity, data flow, and system performance issues across OT environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, operations) to deliver scalable and secure solutions
- Establish standards and best practices for industrial connectivity, data management, and OT cybersecurity
- Active contribution to Continuous Improvement Project
- Participate actively in contribution to HSE development and improvement
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related disciplines
- 10+ years in OT, industrial automation, or related fields
- Strong expertise in industrial communication protocols
- Proven experience in OT network design (VLAN, segmentation)
- Hands-on dashboard development (SCADA / OEE / custom visualization)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and lead initiatives
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of MS Words, Excel & PowerPoint
- Exposure to MES, historians, or cloud analytics platforms
- Knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation systems
- Understanding of OT cybersecurity practices
- Industry 4.0 / Smart Manufacturing frameworks
- Experience with Siemens WinCC / WinCC Unified, PTC ThingWorx, Kepware are advantageous
