Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead and oversee marine operations for our Dirty Petroleum Products (DPP) fleet. This critical role ensures the safe and efficient carriage of cargoes while upholding our commitment to environmental stewardship and crew well-being. By joining our established operations team, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining our reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction across the global maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vessel marine operations to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of nominated cargoes.
  • Advise and assist the Master in preparing for terminal inspections and complying with port regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Master regarding tank cleaning and vessel readiness for loading.
  • Support the chartering desk with essential data for questionnaires and loadable requirements.
  • Monitor vessel performance and voyage progress to optimize routing, fuel consumption, and stowage plans.
  • Review and approve load and discharge plans for both spot and time-chartered vessels.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with port agents and approve proforma disbursements.
  • Coordinate with the bunker team to ensure sufficient fuel and freshwater supplies for scheduled voyages.
  • Identify and address operational gaps highlighted in inspections, audits, and non-conformance reports.
  • Manage and mentor junior operations staff to ensure high standards of performance and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Certificate of Competency (Master Class 1) is essential.
  • Minimum of 6 months command experience on relevant vessel types or 3 years as a Chief Mate on tankers.
  • Alternatively, at least 2 years of shore-based experience as an Operations Superintendent.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage proforma disbursements with agents.
  • Proficiency in incident investigation and the production of detailed technical reports.
  • Specialized skills in conducting SIRE and navigation audits.
  • Knowledge of maritime mandatory rules, terminal regulations, and port requirements.
