  • Remuneration Package: Up to $5,500 + AWS + Variable Bonus
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.15pm
  • Working Location: Central, near MRT Station
  • Requirements: Chemical/Process Engineering background with production operations experience and exposure to budgeting, OPEX or CAPEX

We are assisting a well-established chemical manufacturing organisation with large-scale production operations in Singapore to hire a Operations Planning & Performance Engineer. This opportunity is particularly suitable for Process, Production or Operations Engineers who are keen to broaden their experience beyond plant operations and gain exposure to budgeting, cost management, business planning and senior management reporting.

As a Operations Planning & Performance Engineer, you will serve as an important link between production operations, financial planning and overall business performance. Your understanding of chemical manufacturing processes will enable you to interpret operational data, evaluate key cost drivers and prepare meaningful projections and reports to support management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and annual P&L projections, operating budgets, forecasts and variance analyses.
  • Translate production, operational and cost data into meaningful business insights for management.
  • Support OPEX and CAPEX planning, cost monitoring and business-planning activities.
  • Prepare and coordinate monthly and annual management reports.
  • Compile, analyse and maintain historical operational, commercial and financial data for reporting and planning.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Board papers, management presentations and supporting materials.
  • Monitor strategic supply, pricing and cost-related information to support operational requirements and cost optimisation.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain and other internal departments on planning matters.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline planning and reporting processes using AI, automation and other digital tools.
  • Perform other planning and coordination responsibilities as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Accountancy, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of relevant working experience as process, production or operations Engineers from the chemical, petrochemical or process manufacturing industry
  • Practical exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cost control, OPEX, CAPEX, production planning or management reporting would be highly advantageous.
  • Candidates with finance, planning or analytical experience gained within a chemical manufacturing environment are also welcome.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing operations, production cost drivers and business performance indicators.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Good report-writing and presentation skills.
  • Meticulous and organised, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and corporate functions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience with SAP or other ERP systems would be advantageous.
