The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take full command of a 24/7 EfW plant. This is a critical leadership role where you will ensure safe, reliable incineration and steam generation processes while driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and team development. You will be the driving force behind the plant's operational efficiency and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all daily plant activities, including waste nomination, bunker management, incineration, steam generation, and ash handling to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Reliability & Output: Guarantee the safe and reliable export of steam in strict accordance with customer agreements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with NEA, MOM, SCDF, and PUB regulations. Rigorously monitor environmental metrics such as stack emissions, COe intensity, and wastewater to meet all authority requirements.
- Site Security: Lead comprehensive security operations, including access control, surveillance systems, and protocol enforcement.
- Process Optimization: Champion continuous improvement through methodologies like FMEA, RCM, and predictive maintenance to enhance plant performance.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team comprising engineers, technicians, and security personnel, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term business strategies, including performance forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation.
The Ideal Candidate
- Education: Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Energy preferred).
- Experience: 8-10 years of operational experience in Power Generation, Utilities, or Energy-from-Waste (EfW) environments.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of incineration processes, steam cycles, and environmental compliance frameworks (NEA licensing, carbon tax, emissions monitoring).
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams in a continuous process (24/7) environment.
- Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset toward technology and optimization, and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
