An Operations Improvement Engineer is a key member of the Operations Improvement (OI) Team. This role is responsible for driving performance optimization across PWF, Assembly (HBM, advanced packaging) and Test Operations by identifying improvement opportunities in output, cycle time, cost, and efficiency. It involves applying industrial engineering principles to enhance core manufacturing functions such as line management, production planning, scheduling and dispatching. Additionally, the role supports factory automation initiatives by exploring and implementing innovative solutions that streamline processes and reduce variability.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and analyze optimization opportunities within PWF, Assembly (HBM, advanced packaging) and Test operations.
Design and implement data-driven solutions to improve production metrics and overall operational effectiveness.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects focused on process automation and streamlining operational workflows.
Develop and deploy globally aligned operations management tools for real-time scheduling and dispatching.
Act as a key player in implementing system solutions that support and advance factory automation initiatives.
Participate in the development and training of modernization systems for Production and Engineering.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
Proficient in SQL, Snowflake, Tibco, C#, Python, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Bi, Ui Path, etc.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, JMP, etc.
Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills
Effective communicator, able to collaborate across all levels
Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning
Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable
Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron

Performs design and development engineering assignments related to activities for equipment and systems layouts in plant, office, and production facilities. Work may encompass studies to determine the efficient sequence of operations and workflow. Recommends processes for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors. May participate in testing and implementation of new production systems and interface with research and development and process engineering to plan for future product introduction.
