Job Description

The Opportunity:

For a leading solar energy company based in Singapore, we are seeking a strategic operations head to oversee the comprehensive execution of solar projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring that installations are completed on time, safely, and within budget, adhering to the company's quality standards. The successful candidate will manage outsourced installation vendors, develop and enforce robust SOPs, and drive productivity and cost efficiencies. This position requires a strategic leader who can scale operations in a fast-growing environment while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Operational Leadership

  • Define and lead the long‑term strategy for installation and maintenance operations across Singapore.
  • Translate company growth targets into scalable operational roadmaps, capacity plans, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Build a high‑performance operating model that aligns speed, quality, cost efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Partner with leadership to inform market expansion, product decisions, and operational investments.

Governance of End‑to‑End Project Execution

  • Oversee the full installation lifecycle at a governance level-monitoring outcomes, setting KPI frameworks, and ensuring system‑level reliability.
  • Establish operational guardrails, quality benchmarks, and escalation protocols to ensure consistent performance across all vendor teams.
  • Drive cross‑functional alignment between Sales, Design, Customer Ops, and Field Ops.

Strategic Vendor & Partnership Management

  • Architect a scalable vendor ecosystem, including strategic selection, tiering, long‑term partnership models, and commercial governance.
  • Lead negotiation strategies, commercial structures, and cost‑efficiency frameworks to achieve sustainable margins.
  • Implement rigorous performance management models to ensure predictable delivery, safety compliance, and partner stability.

Process Excellence & Operational Transformation

  • Champion continuous improvement at a systemic level-driving standardisation, digitalisation, and operational automation.
  • Lead the creation of enterprise-grade SOPs, installation playbooks, and operational governance systems.
  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and transformation opportunities to reduce cost per kWp, rework, and installation time.

Capability Building & Organisational Development

  • Build a capability development strategy for all installation partners, including certification pathways, training academies, and ongoing competency development.
  • Ensure workforce readiness for new technologies, regulatory changes, and market expansion.
  • Develop leadership bench strength within the operations function.

Regulatory, Safety & Compliance Leadership

  • Provide strategic oversight of regulatory compliance with EMA, SP Group, BCA, and other authorities.
  • Establish a governance model ensuring zero safety breaches, clean audits, and adherence to all statutory requirements.
  • Build future-proof compliance frameworks to support rapid scale and new project categories.

Scaling the Installation Engine

  • Forecast medium‑ and long‑term installation capacity needs based on business expansion plans.
  • Lead strategic capacity planning-including vendor diversification, capability ramp-up, and workforce scaling.
  • Build operational resilience through redundancy, risk mitigation planning, and scenario modelling.

Experience & Background:

  • 10+ years in solar EPC, distributed energy operations, or construction operations leadership, with experience influencing company‑level operations strategy.
  • Strong track record in scaling operational functions in high‑growth or high‑complexity environments.
  • Experience leading multi‑vendor ecosystems and managing strategic partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of Singapore's solar regulatory landscape and safety standards.

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience leading negotiations at a strategic level.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and change‑management abilities.
  • Strong process design, systems thinking, and continuous improvement capability.
  • High ownership, analytical strength, and the ability to build scalable structures.
