Company Overview

We are an established multi-outlet Japanese restaurant group in Singapore specializing in authentic Japanese dining concepts and operational excellence. We seek an experienced Operations General Manager to lead strategic operations and growth across multiple outlets.

Job Summary

Lead and optimize multi-outlet Japanese restaurant operations by driving efficiency, compliance, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to support business growth and service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end operational management of multiple Japanese restaurant outlets to achieve efficiency, profitability, and consistent service quality
  • Develop and implement operational SOPs, workflow systems, service procedures, and compliance frameworks across all outlets
  • Analyze sales, labour productivity, food costs, inventory, and budgets to manage outlet operational performance
  • Conduct operational audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and Singapore food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Collaborate with senior management on business expansion strategies, outlet setup planning, operational restructuring, and long-term improvements
  • Supervise and mentor outlet managers, kitchen teams, and service staff to enhance operational capabilities and service quality
  • Lead manpower planning including workforce deployment, scheduling, recruitment coordination, and staff retention initiatives
  • Coordinate with Japanese suppliers and business partners on sourcing, operational specifications, quality assurance, and procurement planning
  • Support menu implementation, product standardization, seasonal campaigns, and customer experience enhancement initiatives
  • Monitor customer feedback, operational KPIs, and market trends to identify and implement continuous operational improvements
  • Manage cross-functional coordination between operations, procurement, finance, marketing, and outlet management teams
  • Provide operational leadership during new outlet openings, business transitions, and expansion activities

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Food & Beverage Management, or related fields
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in multi-outlet F&B or restaurant operations management
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, manpower planning, cost control, inventory management, and SOP implementation
  • Experience in operational budgeting, sales analysis, and outlet performance optimization
  • Ability to lead large operational teams in a fast-paced multi-outlet environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Singapore food safety regulations, workplace safety standards, and operational compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and restaurant operational reporting systems

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Proven experience managing Japanese restaurant operations or Japanese dining concepts
  • Experience supporting restaurant business expansion and new outlet openings
  • Experience in operational process improvement and service quality enhancement initiatives
  • Familiarity with Japanese food culture, operational standards, and customer service expectations
  • Ability to manage operational reporting, business analysis, and cross-department coordination independently
  • Ability to coordinate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders, suppliers, and business partners on operational matters (advantageous for supplier and partner communication)

  • 5.5-day work week
  • Flexibility to support operational requirements during weekends and public holidays when necessary
