Job Description


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end vessel operations, including cargo loading, discharge, inspections, and voyage execution.
  • Coordinate vessel vetting, cargo nominations, and operational planning to ensure safe and timely delivery of cargoes.
  • Monitor and manage laytime and demurrage exposure, proactively resolving operational issues to minimize costs.
  • Handle cargo insurance matters, operational claims, and troubleshooting throughout the voyage lifecycle.
  • Liaise with buyers, sellers, shipbrokers, shipowners, terminal operators, joint venture partners, and internal teams to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Work closely with Trading, Middle Office, LNG, Finance & Administration, and Headquarters teams to support cargo execution and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate invoicing, freight payments, and settlement of operational expenses with the Finance team.
  • Negotiate vessel fixtures and charter party terms with brokers and shipowners.
  • Draft and administer charter party agreements and related shipping documentation.
  • Execute lifting operations in accordance with Offtake Agreements and related commercial contracts.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, databases, and shipping documentation.
  • Prepare regular reports on tanker market activities, vessel fixtures, freight trends, and market intelligence to support chartering and trading decisions.
  • Provide operational support to the Risk Management and Trading teams as required.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on operational activities.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in shipping operations, chartering, marine logistics, or oil & gas trading operations.
  • Sound knowledge of tanker operations, charter parties, voyage execution, laytime, and demurrage.
  • Understanding of marine documentation, cargo operations, and international shipping practices.
  • Familiarity with Offtake Agreements, marine insurance, and vessel vetting is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with shipping or ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced trading environment.
