Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the General/Operations Manager, the incumbent will support vessel turnaround by handling port formalities, bunkering, cargo, cruise, and husbandry operations, including technical calls.While applicants should have experience on most of the responsibilities below, ample training and coaching will be provided to the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Mainly but not limited to:

  • Handle vessel's arrival/departure Immigration & port formalities for a smooth turnaround of all port calls.
  • Handle vessel's bunkering calls, cargo operations, cruise operations and husbandry matters including but not limited to crew changes.
  • Handle vessel's technical calls, Drydocking and Ship repairs.
  • Electronic data entry and updates during all stages of port call
  • Supervise (and actively handle whenever is needed), of port calls in other countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea etc., by acting as Hub Agent.
  • Work/communicate withvarious Principals (i.e. Ship Owners, Charterers or Operators) and local Suppliers for ship matters related to the port call.
  • Physically attend the vessel/act as a boarding officer for CTM delivery or whenever is deemed necessary.
  • Generate PDA and forward it to Principals if required.
  • Thoroughly check & submit the vessel's invoices related to the port calls to the accounting department to generate FDA.
  • Any otheroperational or ad hoc duties assigned by Superior/Management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • N or O level and above
  • 1 - 2 years of previous experience as a port agent
  • Experience in handling port agency matters for cruise vessels or being WSH certified will be considered a valuable addition.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Meticulous and willing to learn
  • Organised, detailed and deadline orientedCustomer-focused and proactive, with clear and confident communication skills
