Operations Engineer

Job Description

. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Operations Engineer with 3+ years of experience to support and enhance our infrastructure and application environments.

. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Linux systems, container orchestration, database management, and distributed systems, along with a solid understanding of operational best practices and business context.

Key Responsibilities

. Perform daily system maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of servers and applications to ensure high availability and performance.

. Manage and optimize Linux-based systems, including log analysis, performance tuning, and basic security hardening.

. Administer and maintain databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.

. Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters and associated resources in production environments. Install, maintain, and monitor Hadoop ecosystem components including HDFS, HBase, Hive, and YARN. Deploy and manage middleware and infrastructure services such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Zookeeper, and Nginx. Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support deployments, releases, and incident resolution.

. Monitor system health and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and performance issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

. 3+ years of experience in system operations, infrastructure engineering, or a related role.

. Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix systems administration.

. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, etc.).

. Hands-on experience with databases: MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis.

. Practical experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management and workload orchestration.

. Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem tools such as HDFS, HBase, Hive, and YARN.

. Experience working with middleware technologies including Kafka, Elasticsearch, Zookeeper, and Nginx.

. Strong understanding of common technical domains including big data, containers, IoT, databases, and microservices architecture.

. Ability to understand customer product/business context along with internal operations and maintenance processes.

. Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, or similar) for automation and operational tasks.

. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

. Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.

. Understanding of security best practices and system hardening techniques.
