Operations Director (Single Family Office)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Operations Director to oversee the operational infrastructure of a single-family office. This role will be responsible for managing asset security, multi-asset trading operations, trust and cross-border structures, and the day-to-day administration of operating entities across multiple jurisdictions.
As a key middle- and back-office leader, the successful candidate will ensure the integrity and security of financial assets, the efficient execution of investment transactions, effective risk management, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The role will also play a critical part in enhancing operational efficiency through process optimization, digitalization, and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Security and Investment Operations
Treasury Management
- Manage banking relationships across private and commercial banks, including account opening and maintenance.
- Oversee cross-border fund transfers, cash movements, and liquidity management.
- Develop and implement strategies for cash deployment and idle fund management.
Multi-Asset Trading Operations
- Coordinate trade execution, settlement, and funding across multiple asset classes, including equities, funds, OTC derivatives, real estate, and private equity investments.
- Monitor trading activities and implement appropriate operational and risk control measures.
- Ensure the timely and accurate execution of transactions while maintaining the security of trading accounts and assets.
- Banking Relationships and Trust Administration
Financial Institution Management
- Maintain strong relationships with private banks, custodians, and commercial banking partners.
- Safeguard the security of information and custodial assets.
- Identify and leverage banking resources to support the family's investment and operational objectives.
Trust and Offshore Structure Management
- Support trustees in the day-to-day administration and compliance of trust structures.
- Monitor and oversee the allocation and distribution of trust assets.
- Assist in the ongoing management of offshore entities and related structures.
- Operating Entity Management and Corporate Compliance
Entity Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of entities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure timely regulatory filings and compliance with local statutory requirements.
HR and Administrative Oversight
- Manage payroll administration, employee benefits, insurance, employment contracts, and visa-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with employment regulations and internal policies across all operating entities.
- Coordinate administrative functions to support business operations effectively.
- Process Improvement and Operational Automation
- Drive the standardization, digitalization, and automation of operational processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen internal controls, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation of technology solutions to streamline operations and improve scalability.
Requirements
Education
- Master's degree or above is required.
- Bachelor's degree from a QS Top 100 university is preferred.
- Overseas educational experience is highly desirable.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent will be viewed favorably.
Experience
- 5-10 years of relevant middle- and back-office experience within a family office, private investment platform, private bank, asset management firm, or financial institution.
- Experience supporting complex investment operations across multiple asset classes.
- Familiarity with cross-border structures and international operating environments is highly preferred.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of international banking systems, trust structures, and cross-border fund transfers.
- Hands-on experience in trade execution, settlement, and risk management for equities, funds, and derivatives.
- High level of financial and operational data sensitivity, with a strong understanding of investment workflows.
- Familiarity with corporate compliance, HR administration, and entity management across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience driving process improvement, system implementation, or operational automation initiatives is a plus.
