The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Associate to become a critical pillar of our mid and back office. This is a unique opportunity to be at the operational core of a cutting-edge quant fund. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of our trading strategies, managing daily trade lifecycle events, and optimizing our operational infrastructure for scalability, efficiency, and resilience. Key Responsibilities

Trade Support & Lifecycle Management:

Oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle from execution to settlement.

Manage daily trade confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation processes with prime brokers, execution brokers, and clearinghouses.

Investigate and resolve trade breaks, settlement fails, and any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Coordinate corporate actions processing and ensure accurate reflection in portfolio and risk models.

Portfolio & Risk Operations:

Perform daily reconciliation of positions, cash, and P&L across multiple brokers and internal systems.

Work closely with Quant Researchers and Developers to ensure the accuracy of portfolio data and model inputs.

Monitor trading activity and system outputs for anomalies, acting as a first line of defense for operational risk.

Assist in the calculation and reporting of fund NAV (Net Asset Value), working with the finance team and fund administrators.

Process & Technology Optimization:

Continuously analyze, improve, and automate operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.

Collaborate with the technology team to specify requirements for and test in-house built trading and operations tools.

Manage relationships with key external service providers, including brokers, administrators, and technology vendors.

Compliance & Reporting:

Support the compliance officer in ensuring adherence to MAS regulations and internal compliance policies.

Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in internal and external audit processes.

PB Onboarding:

Liaise with Prime Brokers in opening new accounts

Ensure ongoing daily operations with PBs are optimized

Client Onboarding:

Assist investor relations in onboarding new clients

Assist compliance in performing KYC/AML for new and existing clients

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 2 to 3+ years of experience in operations, middle office, or trade support within a quantitative hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, administrator, or investment bank.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of the trade lifecycle for derivatives (swaps) and cash equities across major Asian exchanges.
  • Proven experience with mission-critical operational processes, including reconciliations, corporate actions, and collateral management.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk controls and a control-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with Singapore MAS regulations (e.g., SFA) is a significant advantage.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Essential: High proficiency with databases for data querying and analysis.
  • Essential: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly Advantageous: Programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, VBA) to automate tasks and interact with APIs.
  • Experience with OMS/EMS (e.g., Portware, Charles River) and PMS platforms.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
