Operations and Production Manager

Location: East Region
Work Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-6pm

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering

• Experience running a Chinese manufacturing plant (preferred industries: jewellery, luxury, medals, fine gifts)

• Managed large teams (200+ headcount)

• Minimum 5 years experience, with 2+ years in a managerial role

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee Daily Production Operations

• Plan and schedule production to meet timelines

• Manage end-to-end production: supply chain, QC, resource allocation, delivery

• Ensure smooth coordination across all production departments

• Oversee trials for new products and implement maintenance plans for factory equipment

• Drive cost-saving measures without affecting quality or timeline

• Manage production costs, inventory of precious materials, and provide weekly cost forecasts

2. Ensure Compliance & Standards

• Maintain ISO9001 and quality management systems

• Ensure workplace safety and health standards are met

• Oversee compliance with corporate governance and legal requirements

• Keep production areas safe and accident-free

3. Lead Continuous Improvement

• Use planning/scheduling tools to optimize production

• Apply lean methods (5S, Kanban, root cause analysis, SPC)

• Improve SOPs, processes, and efficiency

• Conduct supplier evaluations and safety audits

4. Support Business Strategy

• Update management regularly on production performance

• Participate in strategic planning and productivity improvements

• Implement new technologies (automation, robotics, data-driven tools)

• Set team KPIs and drive cost-productivity balance

5. Lead and Develop the Production Team

• Motivate and guide staff to hit production targets

• Provide training, coaching, and performance reviews

• Build strong team communication and develop supervisors leadership capabilities
