About The Role
As a member of the Resource Development Department at the Singapore Red Cross, you will support the planning, coordination and growth of our Social Enterprise initiatives.
Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate in-kind donations and logistics operations, including donation collections, vehicle arrangements, documentation, inventory movement and distribution planning.
You will also coordinate volunteers, engage community and corporate partners, support fundraising initiatives, and provide ad hoc operational support for the Red Cross Shops and events.
This role is suitable for someone who is organised, proactive, hands-on and passionate about creating social impact through logistics coordination, community partnerships and purpose-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities
In-kind donations and logistics coordination
- Coordinate in-kind donation collections, documentation, inventory movement and distribution planning.
- Liaise with donors and internal stakeholders to confirm collection details, schedules, locations and logistical requirements.
- Coordinate vehicle bookings and logistics movements with relevant internal teams.
- Ensure donated items are properly received, recorded, tracked and distributed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports on donated items and logistics activities.
- Follow up on collection changes, incomplete information and operational issues.
- Ensure donation and logistics activities are carried out in accordance with internal procedures.
Volunteer leadership and engagement
- Lead, schedule and motivate volunteers supporting donation collections, retail operations and events.
- Provide volunteers with clear instructions, structured guidance and on-site supervision.
- Ensure sufficient volunteer support for planned activities.
- Foster a positive and purpose-driven volunteer culture aligned with the Singapore Red Cross humanitarian mission.
Partnerships and community engagement
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with corporate organisations, community groups and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with partners on in-kind donations, community activities and collaboration opportunities.
- Support initiatives to expand the visibility and outreach of the Red Cross Shops.
- Represent the Red Cross Shops at meetings, engagements and community events when required.
Retail and social enterprise support
- Provide ad hoc support for retail operations at the Red Cross Shops.
- Support inventory control, merchandising, pricing and customer-experience activities when required.
- Assist in developing revenue-generating initiatives, including thematic sales campaigns, pop-up events and community bazaars.
- Monitor sales and operational performance and recommend areas for improvement.
- Support the smooth running of daily retail operations during events, peak periods or staff-coverage requirements.
Administration and reporting
- Prepare operational and performance reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial, procurement and administrative policies.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures to maintain operational consistency and accountability.
- Maintain proper records relating to donations, logistics, volunteers and retail activities.
Requirements
- Minimum GCE O-Level or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in logistics coordination, operations, inventory management, retail management, social enterprise or the non-profit sector is preferred.
- Supervisory or volunteer-coordination experience would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple schedules and operational requirements.
- Business-minded with a passion for humanitarian and social impact.
- Basic logistics-coordination and administrative proficiency.
- Comfortable performing hands-on operational and event-setup duties.
- A valid Class 3 or 3A driving licence would be an added advantage but is not compulsory.
Work arrangement
- Full-time, five-day work week.
- Working hours: 9.00am to 6.00pm.
- Work schedule: four weekdays and every Sunday.
- Rest days: Saturday and one weekday.
- Flexibility to support public holidays or adjusted schedules when operationally required.
- Willing to work extended hours during events and peak periods when necessary.
