Job Responsibilities & Daily Tasks
- Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean, decontaminate, and prep vehicle paint, including clay-barring, washing, and removing wax/sealants to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Film Cutting & Fitting: Utilize specialized digital cutting software (e.g., Core by XPEL, 3M) or plotters to cut film patterns, or use hand-cutting (bulk installation) techniques around complex vehicle contours.
- Installation: Expertly apply PPF using slip solutions and squeegees to achieve a seamless, invisible finish free from wrinkles, stretch marks, bubbles, or contamination.
- Edge Sealing & Finishing: Use heat guns and specialized tools to trim, wrap, and seal edges properly to prevent peeling.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished work using specialized lighting to detect imperfections and perform final corrections before customer handover.
- Maintenance & Inventory: Maintain a clean, organized, and dust-free workspace, while managing film inventory and tools.
- Customer Communication: Advise clients on PPF options, post-installation care, and benefits. Pyramid Car Care +6
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Generally, 1-3 years of hands-on experience in PPF installation, vinyl wrapping, or automotive detailing is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using heat guns, squeegees, plotters, and cutting tools, as well as knowledge of different film types and adhesive properties.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision to handle intricate areas, sensors, and edges.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Certification: While not always required, certifications from leading film manufacturers (e.g., XPEL, SunTek) are highly preferred.
- Valid Driver's License: Required for moving and positioning high-end customer vehicles. Pyramid Car Care +7
