Brief Summary
Join a dynamic healthcare team dedicated to maintaining a sterile environment for surgical patients. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring operational efficiency and patient safety in the operating theatre.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and ensure all equipment, including operating lights and machines, are functional and clean. Assist in the safe transfer and positioning of patients during surgical procedures. Support surgeons and nursing staff in patient care by adjusting equipment and ensuring necessary tools are available. Conduct daily inventory checks on positioning aids and accessories, while maintaining cleanliness of the operating theatre and related rooms. Manage the disposal of soiled linen and surgical waste, ensuring biohazard safety protocols are followed. Perform terminal cleaning post-surgeries, particularly after infected cases, in line with safety protocols. Transport patients between the ward and operating theatre as required. Execute routine cleaning of operating theatre equipment on a weekly basis, ensuring all tools are in optimal working condition. Undertake any additional tasks as assigned to support the surgical team.
Requirements
- WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Operating Theatre Support) or relevant experience as an Operating Theatre Technician. Strong initiative and a desire to enhance learning in the field. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
