Operating Theatre Technician

• Supporting the surgical team and ensuring the smooth operation of the operating theatre.
• Preparing the Operating Room - setting up the room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
• Equipment Management - checking the functionality and cleanliness of equipment, including suction machines, diathermy machines, and operating lights.
• Patient Care - Assisting with patient transfer, positioning, and providing basic care under the supervision of the surgical team.
• Infection Control - Adhering to infection control practices and ensuring proper cleaning and disposal of waste materials.
• Inventory Management - Maintaining proper inventory of positioning aids and accessories.

 Job Requirement

• Minimum NITEC / Diploma in Engineering or relevant technical credentials is advantageous
• Must be able to carry items weighing up to 10kg per box (each surgery may involve handling at least 4 boxes)
• WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Operating Theatre Support) or prior experience as an Operating Theatre Technician is an added advantage
• Shows initiative and is keen to learn
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
