OpenShift Engineer, Banking (1-year renewable contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation, including code commits, pull requests, and integrations with tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, and other deployment platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, Operations, Network, and Security teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with application and organizational requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation covering architecture design, configuration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, migration, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical assessment, advisory, installation, configuration, upgrade, and migration support for OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments.
• Work closely with development teams to onboard, optimize, and support applications deployed on OpenShift.
• Implement best practices for containerization, orchestration, automation, and platform security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve OpenShift, Kubernetes, and container-related issues in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
• Manage OpenShift cluster performance, availability, capacity planning, and platform health checks.
• Conduct solution assessments and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and operational optimization.
• Support deployment automation and provide Level 2 operational support when required.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience implementing and managing OpenShift or Kubernetes environments.
• Strong expertise in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Kubernetes administration.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline tools including Bitbucket, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, or similar technologies.
• Hands-on experience with container configuration management tools and concepts such as Helm and app-of-apps.
• Good understanding of containerization, Linux administration, virtualization, networking, and security principles.
• Knowledge of application development technologies, preferably Java Spring Boot.
• Experience in automating infrastructure provisioning, deployment, testing, and operational processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within complex containerized environments.
• Experience supporting high-availability enterprise infrastructure environments and providing Level 2 support.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
