Mission & Main Tasks
- Create new possibilities through external collaborations with adjacent and unrelated business counterparts to trigger change and innovation within Hyundai Motor Group (HMG).
- Implement such a project to prove the feasibilities between new chances and the necessities of HMG.
- Evangelize open innovation mindset and spirit to all members of HMG.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Research, identify and evaluate new technologies in the areas of smart mobility, software-defined manufacturing, AI, robotics, Hydrogen supply chain, battery technologies, charging technologies, electrification
- Initiate and manage Open Innovation projects, such as technology feasibility trials or Proof-Of-Concept projects, involving external partners, e.g., Start-ups/Corporate/Accelerators/
- VCs/Research institutions and internal Business Units (BUs), e.g., R&D/Product/Production/
- New Business Development to meet strategic objectives.
- Research and prepare reports to inform HQ and BUs of emerging technology and market innovation trends in markets of interest
- Cultivate good working relationships with external and internal stakeholders, especially Bus
- Regular travel to engage with BUs, especially in Korea, expected
- Support CRADLE's investment workstream, where required

Background (Education / Work Experience)
- Advanced degree in engineering / STEM (preferably PhDs, but this is not a hard requirement)
- 4-6 years of business development, project management, or R&D experience, preferably in the automotive industry but this is not a hard requirement
- 4-6 years relevant working experience, preferably in designing and managing technical Proof-Of-Concept projects with commercialization intent, technology transfer, commercialization of technologies, business spin outs, and/or venture building activities
Professional Skills - Knowledge & Skills & Others (Certification etc.)
- Strong background in innovation management
- Training and experience with AI and robotics projects
Language Skills
- Good command of English language
- Other foreign languages would be an advantage
