Job Description

About Us

Our mission at OGP is to build tech for public good.

To accomplish this, OGP does everything from building better apps for citizens to automating the internal operations of public agencies. Our role is to accelerate the digital transformation of the Singapore Government by being a space where it can experiment with new tech practices, including new technologies, management techniques, corporate systems, and even cultural norms. Our end goal is that through our work, Singapore becomes a model of how governments can use technology to improve the public good.

Projects we have worked on include:

- A suite of systems built to enable Singapore's national vaccination campaign for Covid-19. This includes informational sites, appointment booking systems, and records management systems.

- An open repository of all the Singapore Government's public data. It helps people understand the data using visualizations and articles, and provides real-time APIs for developers to use.

- A mobile app alternative to parking coupons. It lets users pay, extend, and refund their parking sessions just using their phones.

- A form builder tool for agencies to self-service and create online forms that capture classified data, with the goal of replacing paper forms.

What you will do:

The goal of the Corporate Operations Officer is to support the Corporate Operations function in OGP to set up the systems, tools and day-to-day operational needs to provide the best environment for them to be effective. You will work closely with the Head of Corporate Operations function as well as the wider Corporate Operations and Corporate Team to achieve this goal. You will report directly to the Corporate Operations Manager.

Principal responsibilities and duties:

  • Support daily office operations on site - this includes ensuring that office is well equipped, assets and inventories are well managed, and ensuring timely purchase and deliveries of supplies. You will also monitor office utilisation, respond to team feedback, and make informed decisions about resupply, maintenance work, or other micro-optimisations needed for the office space. You may also be required to support any future office relocation works.
  • Support execution of team socials and welfare activities, and industry engagement events - this includes quarterly townhalls, social activities during festive seasons and team welfare activities when required. You may also be required to support the planning and execution of events within our office space or at external venues alongside other functions within our team.
  • Operationalise and tune up hybrid workplace - this includes AV support for weekly team syncs and sharings, set up for meeting rooms and internal event spaces, purchase and management of AV/IT equipment, and working with the wider team to improve hybrid workplace.

The long run goal of OGP is not just to be a high performing team itself, but to take our success and transform the Singapore Government as a whole into a modern high performance organisation. This role is not about passively keeping the team running well, but about proactively exploring, implementing, and propagating practices so that the Singapore Government becomes the best place where the best people can work on the most important problems.

What it's like working here

  • Rapid Prototyping - Instead of spending too much time debating ideas we prefer testing them. This identifies potential problems quickly, and more importantly, conveys what is possible to others easily.
  • Ownership - In addition to technical responsibilities, this means having opinions on what is being done and having ideas on what should be done next. Building something that you believe in is the best way to build something good.
  • Continuous Learning - Working on new ideas often means not fully understanding what you are working on. Taking time to learn new architectures, frameworks, technologies, and even languages is not just encouraged but essential.
