Onshore Cloud Architect

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud solutions on Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) and Commercial Cloud (CC) environments.
• Architect secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure following cloud-native best practices.
• Implement cloud security controls, network boundary controls, and security best practices across cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or equivalent.
• Build, configure, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployment and security compliance.
• Deploy, configure, monitor, and upgrade cloud resources while ensuring compliance with security and governance requirements.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure, optimize resource utilization, and resolve operational and security-related issues.
• Collaborate with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), vendors, developers, and cross-functional teams to implement secure cloud solutions.
• Set up and enhance development tools, infrastructure, and DevOps processes for continuous delivery and automation.
• Implement and maintain Agile and DevOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and backup solutions.
• Support project implementation in accordance with technical design specifications and security standards.
• Assist with Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives for end-to-end DevOps implementation.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), project documentation, technical documentation, and user guides.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud and security issues and document solutions.
• Continuously review existing cloud environments and recommend improvements to security, processes, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field.
• Strong experience designing, implementing, and managing secure cloud environments using AWS.
• Good knowledge of Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) cloud technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or equivalent.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD tools.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, PowerShell, or similar automation tools.
• Experience deploying High Availability (HA) solutions for applications and databases.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, cloud-native design patterns, and container management.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls, compliance, and governance best practices.
• Good understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, and Service Management.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, servers, storage, networking, and backup technologies.
• Knowledge of Windows and Unix server administration and network management principles.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant cloud certifications are preferred.
• Familiarity with government cloud environments, IM8, cybersecurity, data security, and public sector policies is an added advantage.
