About the Opportunity

This firm is one of the most technologically advanced players in electronic trading, operating across thousands of securities, hundreds of venues, and dozens of countries, with a relentless focus on speed, precision, and reliability. Their Singapore desk is a critical node in their global infrastructure, and they're now looking for an Ondesk Engineer to be the hands-on technical backbone of that operation.

This is a rare opportunity to sit inside a live trading floor environment, not a back-office helpdesk, where your work has direct, visible, daily impact on the firm's ability to trade. You'll own both the desktop support function for traders and staff, and the physical management of the local data center. It's a role with real ownership, fast decision-making, and high trust placed in the person who holds it.

Primary Responsibilities:

Desktop & End-User Support

• Set up, configure, and maintain Windows desktop environments across the office: hardware/software management, security patching, and health monitoring to global standards
• Provide first-line local and second-line regional support, resolving and escalating incidents quickly
• Become the trusted go-to technical contact for traders and staff
• Manage user accounts, software installs, and general office IT/facilities issues

Data Center Operations

• Take ownership of the Singapore Data Centre and local server room: coordinating deliveries, patching cables, racking/installing servers, and managing inventory
• Operate within global standards, change-control, and safety procedures for all physical infrastructure work
• Act as the on-site point of contact for vendor/colo coordination (smart-hands requests, access management, escorted visits)

Infrastructure & Asset Management

• Maintain accurate, audit-ready inventory of all hardware and software
• Proactively identify and drive improvements to local IT systems and processes

What You'll Need:

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience spanning desktop/end-user support and hands-on data center or server room work
• Experience working in a high-pressure, time-critical environment; financial services, trading, or similarly demanding settings strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of Windows 7&10 and Microsoft Office in an enterprise environment
• Genuine hands-on comfort racking, cabling, and patching physical infrastructure, not just managing systems remotely
• Strong inventory and asset management discipline
• Excellent spoken and written English; confident communicating directly with senior stakeholders
