Job Description

Role Overview:

This role will lead and oversee the Operations Onboarding & Broker Management team, ensuring effective management and implementation of portfolio, mandate lifecycle initiatives, and counterparty onboarding to provide robust processing support for investment activities. The successful candidate will provide APAC thought leadership on global initiatives, ensuring that regional perspectives and operational nuances are appropriately represented.

Success in this role requires an adaptable, creative, and curious approach to champion new corporate initiatives and navigate complex lifecycle events. Proactive engagement and relationship-building with internal departments-including Investment, Client Group, Product, and multiple Operations teams-and with external service providers and business partners will also be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Onboarding and Mandate Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee all APAC onboarding activities (excluding Taiwan and Indonesia), including new portfolio take-ons, inter-entity delegations, terminations, and mandate revisions.
  • Manage the setup of new and incremental market access and APAC-managed portfolios on Aladdin.
  • Lead operational changes to ensure readiness for new clients, products, and support for regional initiatives.
  • Oversight of the end to end including global partnership with London and UST location

2. Process Discipline, Quality, and Risk Controls

  • Provide oversight and leadership to ensure consistent, best-practice onboarding and broker management processes globally.
  • Monitor market and regulatory changes, updating processes as needed.
  • Own and maintain the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) for the function proactively address error trends and mitigate operational risks.

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Service Delivery

  • Build strong relationships across Operations, Investment, Product, Client Group, Legal, Trading, and with external partners such as Clearers, Fund Accountant, Transfer Agents and Custodians.
  • Deliver specialist operational support and ensure high service standards for internal and external clients.
  • Support client due diligence and provide clear presentations as required.

4. Leadership, People Development, and Change Initiatives

  • Lead, guide, and mentor the team, serving as the escalation point for operational issues.
  • Develop staff and drive adaptability, creativity, and continuous learning.
  • Initiate and deliver projects and change initiatives to improve service, controls, and risk/cost management, aligning team efforts with broader objectives.

5. Reporting, Oversight, and Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure operational efficiency, accuracy, and timely management reporting.
  • Collaborate with Investment Change, Legal, and Trading for the delivery of new platforms and consistent processes.
  • Provide thought leadership to continuously enhance team procedures and practices.

Requirements

  • A demonstrable track record in onboarding operations and broker management, with proven team leadership and performance management experience.
  • Strong background in asset management, with comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end asset lifecycle and financial instruments (equities, fixed income, mutual funds, FX, derivatives).
  • Experienced with Aladdin (advantageous) and highly proficient in Excel.
  • Deep understanding of operational risk, control frameworks, and global regulatory requirements (e.g., EMIR, Dodd Frank, Solvency II, MiFID, FATCA, CRS).
  • Excellent project, process, analytical, and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills for building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders worldwide.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative, adaptable, and innovative approach, open to feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Skilled at prioritization, delegation, and driving a positive, motivated team culture.
