Job Description

Oil Trader (Refined Products) - Energy trading company

We are partnering with a growing energy trading firm with strong ambition to expand their footprints into asset trading.

The firm is seeking for commercially-minded traders to drive commercial performance across on the refined product side - either gasoline, diesel, jet, and other distillates, biofuels or naphtha. The successful candidate will manage trading activities, expand market presence, and deliver strong P&L results through disciplined market analysis, relationship-building, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver strong P&L via physical and paper trading strategies across refined products - either gasoline, diesel, jet, and other distillates, biofuels or naphtha.
  • Identify and capture arbitrage in time, location, and quality spreads.
  • Build and leverage relationships with refiners, suppliers, brokers, NOCs, and endusers.
  • Originate and negotiate spot/term deals with strong commercial acumen.
  • Hedge exposures and manage market/credit risks within risk limits.
  • Collaborate with ops, shipping, finance, and legal to ensure flawless execution and accurate P&L.
  • Good level of autonomy to make your own trading decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; master's degree a plus.
  • 10-15 years of proven track record of generating P&L in refined products trading - either in gasoline, diesel, jet, and other distillates, biofuels or naphtha.
  • Comfortable in running your own P&L book independently and being rewarded as a percentage of P&L.
  • Strong understanding of physical and paper markets, arbitrage, and trading economics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationshipmanagement skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, make fast decisions, and handle market volatility.
  • Proficiency with trading tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Eikon, Platts, CME/ICE platforms).
