Office of Student Support - SEN Officer
[What you will be working on]
- Work in collaboration with various stakeholders to develop scaffolded learning plans for students with SEN requiring structured academic support plans
- Design and execute executive functioning skills programmes
- Deliver academic skills development programmes (skill-building layer) focused on learning strategies and effective use of accommodations
- Develop practical guidelines for lecturers to enhance inclusive teaching practices
- Conduct classroom observations and provide consultation to lecturers
- Monitor and manage data related to student progression and completion, to develop informed and targeted interventions
- Administer SEN fund applications, and the procurement of assistive technology devices and services for students with SEN
- Document case consultation records and manage data of SEN support
- Organise programmes to promote SEN awareness and inclusive education
- Develop individualized job accommodation plans for students with SEN to facilitate their transition to internship.
- Provide consultation to internship partners on the customisation of job scopes for students with SEN and build their capability to better manage students with SEN in the workplace
- Provide onsite job coaching for students with SEN on internship when required
[What we are looking for]
- Relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Special Education, Learning Sciences, or related field, with at least 5 years of relevant working experience in supporting students with ASD, ADHD, or learning differences
- Strong understanding of executive functioning, inclusive pedagogy, and academic accommodations
- Experience in programme design, facilitating workshops, events management, data tracking, and student case management preferred
- Prior work experience in education, counselling and/or social work will be an added advantage
- Must be able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, work independently, as well as in a team setting
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (spoken and written), good administrative skills, IT savvy and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
