Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily ocean freight import and export operations.
- Process shipment orders, invoices, delivery notes, and maintain accurate operational records.
- Coordinate with overseas offices, customers, carriers, and vendors to ensure smooth shipment execution.
- Monitor shipment status and resolve operational issues proactively to minimize delays and demurrage exposure.
- Ensure timely customs clearance, permit declarations, and cargo delivery.
- Accrue operational costs and verify vendor invoices accurately.
- Lead and support the operations team to achieve service excellence and operational efficiency.
- Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with Company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Handle general import/export administrative duties and any other tasks assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Maritime Business Management, Air & Sea Freight Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in ocean freight forwarding operations, with solid exposure to both import and export operations.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, documentation, customs requirements, and carrier operations.
- Ability to manage daily operations effectively, resolve operational issues, and support customer requirements in a timely manner.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience will be an advantage.
- Strong communication and coordination skills inworking with customers, carriers, overseas offices, and internal departments.
- Team player with a proactive can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
