Job Summary
Provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for pediatric clients with developmental challenges, collaborating with teams and stakeholders to deliver effective, individualized therapy programs in clinical, school, and home settings.
Responsibilities
- Assess pediatric clients with diverse developmental challenges to determine appropriate Occupational Therapy interventions
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions in clinic and school environments to support client development
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement tailored intervention programs for clients
- Conduct school and home visits to evaluate client needs and provide necessary accommodations
- Consult and communicate effectively with families, school staff, and other stakeholders to support client management
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and consultations with clients and stakeholders
- Provide timely feedback and maintain ongoing communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure therapy effectiveness
- Stay informed on current developments and best practices in Pediatric Occupational Therapy
- Travel as required to conduct outsourced therapy sessions
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from a university recognized by the Ministry of Health under the Allied Health Professions Act
- Full Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum two years experience working with children and youth with special needs, multiple disabilities, and complex conditions
- Passion for working with children and families
- Ability to engage effectively with individuals of all ages and cultural backgrounds
- Strong motivation to work both independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
- Proficient communication skills with strong command of verbal and written English
- Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
