A Nursing Home Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Cleanliness is especially critical in healthcare settings to prevent infections and ensure residents comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas

• Disinfect high-touch surfaces (bed rails, doorknobs, light switches, etc.)

• Change bed linens and make beds

• Dispose of waste, including medical or hazardous waste (following safety protocols)

• Replenish supplies (toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer, etc.)

• Follow infection control and hygiene standards

• Use cleaning chemicals safely and correctly

• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards

• Work respectfully around elderly residents, often while rooms are occupied
